Every woman knows that beauty has a price. It takes time to go through a beautification process. Time, which can be used for something else, but would rather be given in the pursuit of aesthetics. Money to spend to buy the necessary products to use and the energy spent during the process. I have a friend though, who loves to multi-task. She works or plays at her favorite online bingo site while she is having her hair done. She tells me that it is a good way to kill time while beautifying herself. Another friend of mine, to save on money, would do all the chores in their house, and would only call on her house-help when she has had enough sweat. And me? I do multi-tasking as well. I save on money, burn a few calories and get household chores done in no time. That way, I get to beautify myself and do what I am supposed to do at home.

Multi-tasking is a good thing. It allows persons with this ability to finish tasks on time, and head on to the next with much ease and grace. Some people, “workaholics” as they like to be called, do not multi-task, that is why they are left with so much and complain that they have less time and could not finish their tasks on time. If all people multi-task, then there would be plenty of time left to give to where time is due. Then there wouldn’t be wives who will be left by husbands for younger looking women who knows how to care for themselves, or for something else. Or husbands will never fall short of time to spare for their wives and children if they know how to multitask. Bottom line is, multitasking can help all of us go through our tasks in half the time, so we better know how to do it.

Leaving nothing to the imagination…

Wearing too little never gives a good impression, especially on a date. Carmen’s Legacy

I had an almost perfect house-help last year. Well, almost. I somehow adopted her when she was in need of a place to stay, and work. So I took her in and somehow gave her both. She worked for me and worked part time at my parent’s place too. Although she was pregnant, she was hired. But she was never given anything heavy to do, that she can not or would not do. In short, whatever she can do around my house, and my parent’s house, she can. We were lenient towards her, but she worked really well. Showing us that she is a very good house help. And she got double monthly payment, both from me and my parents. We pitied her so we made sure that she was also comfortable. When she gave birth, she had a month’s rest at their village. And when she came back, I look after her baby whenever she works at my parent’s house. Everything was okay, until her grandmother died and she flipped. Perhaps it was postpartum after four months giving birth, or she may have had nervous breakdown. All I remember was that, she was yet okay before she learned of her grandma’s death. After twelve days, she came back as an emotional wreck who cried most times, and even became aloof. She wouldn’t allow us to hold the baby, and would rather place her in the chicken coop that she managed to create weeks before leaving. What really made me afraid of her was that she took a pass on me during the night, on the same day she came home, after all those melodramatic moments that she wouldn’t talk to us and just cry. In the morning she carried around a knife, which made me lock her in, as I called on the Women’s Desk of the Carmen Police precinct to assist me, as well as the barangay tanod. I wanted her to go home to her parents because I was afraid of what she might do to me, to my daughter and brother and to herself and her baby. Because the night before, when I rejected her while making a pass on me, she somehow stated that she would just go home, and in the morning we will just hear on the news about her and her baby floating in the river. Although I have managed to cajole her at that time, in the morning it was a different story. To cut the story short, she was escorted by the barangay tanod out of my house after hours of not wanting to leave. She was said to have boarded the bus back to her village. And I thought everything was okay, except that a month after that, she had been harassing me on my cp.. Of course, I had to switch phones and homes.. That also led me to leave for Singapore.

Now, I dunno where she is but if there is a legacy that she has left me, it’s maintaining a vegetable garden.. After seven days here, we have managed to plant Lemongrass, Malabar Spinach or Malabar Nightshade (Alugbati) and Leeks.. Our small garden here already has chili, ginger and some other plants. I think I will ask from the department of agriculture some seeds to add here..

Beating the Stop Light, better yet, find the fastest airport transfer

A friend of mine almost missed her own wedding due to a short side trip to the islands. Good thing, when she reached city proper and on every airport she has set foot on, the airport transfers were fast. She arrived a day ahead with less worries.

I am sure many of you here have experienced a similar incident in your life, where you almost didn’t make it at a very important occasion or event, but when you were able to beat the stop light, it was all an amazing experience.. Well, I have had a few of these experiences, but I do not really recommend unpreparedness and lack of foresight, especially when traveling. It is always a good idea for me if one has a back up plan for every planned itinerary, or for every detail that needed to be accomplished. For when we are not able to accomplish anything, and time has run out, everything just seems to be frustrating and a series of unfortunate events follows.. err,.. quite an exaggeration there! hehehe

In the meantime, I wish for everyone to plan ahead for anything and everything. Plans, plus determination will work well for a person who believes in the positive. It always pays to win the race or finish the track before everyone does..
